AAA  DIGEST  OF  MOTOR  LAWS

NOW  AVAILABLE  FREE  ONLINE

New online feature provides easy access to driving laws and regulations for all 50 states at DrivingLaws.AAA.com

Helena, Mont., (July 20, 2011) – Police, DMV officials and in-the-know drivers have looked to AAA’s Digest of Motor Laws for eight decades for information on traffic laws, vehicle registration and driver licensing across all 50 states. This unique resource is now available free to the public at DrivingLaws.AAA.com, a new online feature that presents the more-than-700 page book as an easy-to-use online resource.

“This new online resource helps drivers navigate the complex patchwork of state motor vehicle laws, putting a wealth of information about traffic laws, licensing policies and vehicle regulations just a click away,” said AAA spokesperson Tara Hanley.  “Many websites simply link back to state DMV sites or focus separately on traffic safety laws, vehicle regulations, or driver licensing. DrivingLaws.AAA.com is a single, user-friendly clearinghouse for information from across the full spectrum of rules that impact motorists.”

While the former print version of the book was published annually, the new format will be updated throughout the year as states make changes to their laws and regulations. The online Digest covers all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and will expand to include Puerto Rico and Canada’s provinces and territories later this year.

Other topics featured include state graduated driver’s licensing systems, child safety seat and seat belt laws, licensing for senior drivers, distracted driving laws, titling and registration, safety and emissions inspections, motorcycles and mopeds, auto insurance requirements, passenger car towing, and Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) fees and taxes.
